Throughout the Asia Pacific region, the demand for IT outsourcing and call centers is rapidly rising. While Indonesian hackers are earning ‘reputation’ globally, this is a signal that Indonesia has the human resources to successfully engage in this promising industry. This is the fundament of a partnership between European, Indonesian and Asian actors. This partnership includes the expertise, knowledge and industrial know-how of the Dutch IT firm Hollitech (based in the Netherlands, India and Indonesia); the largest and private university of Tasikmalaya (established 28 years ago by the Indonesian Armed Forces), University of Siliwangi (UNSIL); and PT Tasik Development Company, the independent social investment arm, connected to PA Asia Jakarta.
Hollitech’s President Director, Mr. Jacques Rijsenbilt: “I am excited with the idea that this Indonesian platform will potentially serve a global market, in order to achieve the company’s main objective, i.e. to put Indonesia on the map for the global software off-shoring industry”.
Rector Magnificus Prof. Numan Sumantri: “This project uniquely combines UNSIL’s academic base and its newly established ‘Edgar Brood Academic Chair for English’ and Hollitech’s driving force in the IT market. Siliwangi University has a computer center. With Hollitech experts, we are ready to jump and professionalize our education through a strong market orientation”.
Mr. Rio D. Praaning Prawira Adiningrat, President Director of PT. TDC: “Wageningen University and UNSIL identified growth opportunities for the Tasik region. This included a new SME center and the construction of a new port at Cikalong with additional infrastructure. This new platform is exactly what is required to align Tasik’s human potential with Indonesia’s future economic growth”.
